By attaching cooling ribs to a normal heating element, you will attain a significantly larger surface for heat radiation. This makes finned tube aitr heaters well-suited for places that require a low surface temperature for security reasons. Ø8.5 and Ø10.2 tubes can be delivered with twisted rib.
Plate ribs can only be mounted on Ø8.5 tubes and in steel. The rib enables a significantly better heat radiation to the subject, which means that the load on the heating element can be 2-3 times higher compared to using a smooth tube.
