Finned elements are suitable for air heating in still as well as circulating air.
By attaching cooling fins to a regular heating element, a significantly larger surface is achieved for heat radiation. Therefore the element is well-suited for locations that require a low surface temperature for security reasons. Regular Ø8.5 and Ø10.2 pipes are avilable with twisted fins.
Straight ribs can only be mounted on Ø8.5 pipes and in steel. The rib yields a significantly better heat radiation to the subject, and it also means that the load on the heating element can be 2-3 times higher compared to the use of a smooth pipe.
